Online Style: CondeNet wants a ‘visual jingle’

If you haven’t found enough aspiring models running past Nasdaq on their way to the Conde Nast building, perhaps you’ve found them online at any one of the publisher’s fashion sites. From Style.com and Epicurious to Concierge and Men.Style.com, it’s all one ultra-luxe web of lifestyle guides. And while there’s no shortage of Coach bags and Alexander McQueen gowns to display, it can be a struggle keeping the content fresh. Who knew that “news is now a commodity,” as CondeNet president Sarah Chubb put it.

It’s tough work to keep each site updated with the products and services most readers can only hope to find in a goody bag after stealing their roommate’s invite to a launch party. So we turn to CondeNet managing director Dee Salomon (we’re checking any relation to Rick), who wants to create a “visual jingle.” Or, as we like to pronounce it, “throwing up in our mouth.”
