Was it Keith Olbermann‘s use of the “Hail Hitler” sign at the Television Critics Assocation event last month that put ’em over the top, or that the MSNBC Counterdowner continues to display his affinity for authoritarian oppression that set the Anti-Defamation League over the edge? It’s all part of Olbermann’s on-going Bill O’Rivalry.
The ADL issued a public letter to Olbermann late last month (though your eagle eyes only alerted us to it now), which reads in part:
While we understand that your aim is to entertain your audience by taking pot shots at Mr. O’Reilly, your repeated use of the Nazi salute has resulted in many complaints from our constituents, including Holocaust survivors and their families who find the use of this gesture offensive and repugnant in any context.
To be fair, it’s not exactly like there’s a Jew running MSNBC who’s going to reel in Olbermann’s on-air hate signs. Dan Abrams is far too busy — coifing his hair.
