When Olivia Pope’s gut is right, it’s really right. But when it’s wrong…watch out!

Olivia Pope’s gut was very, very wrong on Scandal Season 4 Episode 6. But also very right.

When a former President died of a stroke, Olivia Pope got a call to visit his supposed assassin in jail. The man declared he was innocent and the bullet lodged in the dead man’s brain could prove it.

That assassin played Olivia Pope like a fiddle.

In order to get the bullet out, because Olivia believed the man was innocent, she had him charged with First Degree Murder by fanning the social media flames so that the President and White House had no choice but to charge him.

Then they realized he actually WAS the killer. And that’s what he wanted. He wanted to go down in history as a man who killed a President.

Olivia never saw the possibility coming because she’s way too obsessed with proving people’s innocence right now. Namely, Jake’s.

After demanding to see Jake, it became clear to her that he was not the man who killed Jerry and Harrison, but seeing them in a room together caused the President to transfer Jake’s custody to Rowan Pope so that he could be killed without anyone knowing he was ever detained.

When Olivia confronted Fitz about that and told him there was always hope for the two of them, Fitz had Jake transferred to Supermax.

It’s interesting because it’s clear Olivia is playing a game, but with whom? Is she playing Fitz, her father, or both? (Both, most likely.)

Jake didn’t kill her friend, and deep down in her heart, despite what the evidence shows, Olivia knows that.

What she doesn’t know right now is that the man who killed Catherine’s daughter has been tailing her. Finding out that information should prove interesting.
