A press release from Kensington Palace has provided the last important detail surrounding the Royal birth of a son to Prince William and Duchess Kate on July 22.

The statement read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis. The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.”

After a night spent with his Royal parents at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, Prince George met his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The monarch stopped for a 30 minutes visit before heading to Balmoral Castle in Scotland for a summer holiday.

Not long after the Queen hit the road, Prince William and new mother Kate bundled up their newborn son and made a 55 mile trek west of London to stay with her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton in Bucklebury.
