Maybe not being tamed is a little too much for the former Disney princess. Miley Cyrus caused quite a ruckus with her performance on Britain’s Got Talent. We’re not exactly sure what she was thinking. If you are going to simulate kissing a girl, you shouldn’t be too surprised if people actually believe you kissed a girl — wasn’t that the point of the simulation?
Miley is frustrated with all the rumors on the Internet claiming she kissed a girl. She took to her website to rant, “I performed Cant Be Tamed this week on one of my favorite shows here in the UK Britian’s Got Talent. Which is totally true, there were some amazinnnggg acts (but of course no one could focus on that.) I had such a blast and was so honored to be on that stage.”
The teen star continued, “That being said, during my performance I supposedly ‘KISSED A GIRL’ and this is the newest thing to cause controversy. I promise you I did not kiss her and it is ridiculous that two entertainers cant even rock out with each other without the media making it some type of story. I really hope my fans are not disappointed in me because the truth is I did nothing wrong.” Read the entire message HERE
Miley is going through exactly what Britney Spears went through when she covered Rolling Stone magazine looking far more grown up than she was at the time. The critics want their pop stars clean and wholesome. The difference between Britney and Miley is that Britney rarely apologized.
If Miley truly wants to shed her good girl Disney image, she can’t backpedal or react to the critics. More than that, if she doesn’t want people to think she kissed a girl, she probably shouldn’t pretend so well.
Cyrus performed it again on Saturday at Rock in Rio Madrid Live – complete with the girl-on-girl kiss sequence. Rihanna was also on hand – rocking RED hair and a very Madonna-esque costume. PHOTOS HERE.
