Prince Michael and Paris, the two eldest children of the late Michael Jackson are going to be at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards tonight to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of their father.
The one figure in Michael’s life that the world knew he had a strained relationship with was his father Joe Jackson. Joe has stepped forward and is taking credit for his grandchildren’s appearance at the awards ceremony.
“I am very proud that my son, Michael Jackson, is a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award at this years Grammy. However, there (have) been some recent rumors that I am displeased with the idea that Michael’s children are accepting the award on my son’s behalf. On the contrary, I am very proud of my grandchildren. Katheryn and I are the ones that (have) initiated their participation.”
Before the ‘King of Pop’ passed last June, he reportedly put together a 3-D film clip that will be shown during the tribute. Usher, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion and Smokey Robinson will perform.
Joe added that he was very proud of his family and that he will continue to seek justice on behalf of Michael.
You can catch the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards tonight on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
