Chynna Phillips is speaking out about the incestuous affair between her half-sister Mackenzie Phillips, and their father, John Phillips, of The Mamas and the Papas fame.

Chynna, 41, says she received a call from Mackenzie in 1997.

“She said, ‘I don’t know why, but I just really felt the need to call you and tell you something that I think you need to know,'” Chynna recalls. “And she went on to tell me that she had had an incestuous relationship with our dad for about 10 years.”

Chynna’s mother is John’s second wife, and Mamas and Papas member, Michelle Phillips.

“Somebody could have dropped a piano on my head and I probably wouldn’t have felt it,” Chynna says. “But I knew it was true. I mean, who in their right mind would make such a claim if it wasn’t true?”

She says the news sent her into “a deep, deep sadness and depression for about 10 days. A part of me died when I found out.”

In her new memoir, “High on Arrival,” Mackenzie, 49, reveals shocking details about her decade-long affair with her father, which began when she was 19. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, airing on Wednesday, she also reveals that her first experience with drugs was when her own father shot her up with heroin.

The “One Day at a Time” star also recounts her sexual liason with Mick Jagger at age 18.
