Layla Reaves Kiffin is the gorgeous wife of newly named University of Tennessee Vols head coach Lane Kiffin. At 33 years of age, he is the youngest head coach in Div 1-A, beating out Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald by six months. The UT Vols organization named Kiffin to replace Phil Fulmer, who was ousted in early November.
Kiffin was the former head coach of the Oakland Raiders, holding ‘youngest’ status there too, and prior to that was the offensive coordinator at Southern California under Pete Carroll.
Lane, who was born and raised in Bloomington, Minnesota, is the son of Monte Kiffin, defensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rumors are floating that 68 year old Monte is planning to join his son at UT after the NFL season ends.
Both Lane and Layla have their roots firmly planted in football. Lane’s brother Chris was a defensive lineman at Colorado State from 2001-2004 and Layla’s father, John Reaves, is a former assistant coach for University of Florida football program.
The couple have two young daughters, Landry, 3, and Pressley, 2. They are expecting their third child in January.
UPDATE: January 2010 – Lane Kiffin is leaving the Vols for USC. See details here.
