Would American Idol fans be able to handle La Toya Jackson taking the place of the always outspoken Simon Cowell? Soft spoken, eyelash batting La Toya wants in!
Here’s what we know — Jackson and AI producer Nigel Lythgoe were recently spotted at a housewarming party for Kathy Hilton at an estate in Bel Air. The two were observed chatting it up about the possibility of La Toya appearing on the show as a guest judge.
This was all before Simon announced that this would be the last season that he would appear on American Idol. Guest judge Ellen DeGeneres will appear this season – check out her promo ad pic here.

Since the Cowell announcement, Jackson is setting her sights a bit higher. She told TMZ, “I would love to be a judge on American Idol. I would love the chance for the public to get to know the real me. I would be thrilled.”
