Last month it was announced that Justin Bieber was going to take a stab at acting. The singer, who has given teenage girls everywhere a serious case of “Bieber Fever”, taped four scenes during a guest appear on CSI, that has quickly evolved into a multiple episode storyline.
Producers were so impressed with Bieber’s acting chops that his character will be back later in the season. Creator Don McGill, writer Carol Mendelsohn and producer Anthony Zuiker released a statement:
“Every 20 years, a phenomenon like Justin Bieber graces our world. We’d like to believe that the phenomenon of CSI has had the same impact on popular culture. The opportunity to bring them together in the premiere is a great treat for our audience and all of its new viewers, this will be true event television.”
Mendelsohn added a little insight into Biebs’ character: “He plays Jason McCann, a troubled teenager who is faced with a difficult decision regarding his older brother.”
The dark role is definitely something different for the pop star, who is known for his bubbly love songs. Bieber will appear on the September 23rd season premiere on CBS, and is slated to return to film a second episode that will air in February 2011.
