Actor John Travolta has kept a low profile following the sudden death of his son Jett nine-month-ago but has recently resurfaced. Earlier this month John, his wife actress Kelly Preston and their daughter Ella Bleu Travolta showed up at a Disney event to promote their film Old Dogs.
John will be traveling to the Bahamas to testify on behalf of the prosecution in an extortion trial that will begin on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Nassau Supreme Court before Senior Justice Anita Allen. He is reportedly dreading the possibility that the private details surrounding Jett’s death, if made public, will be painful and embarrassing for his family.
Taking the stand will be paramedic Tarino Lightbourne and former politician Pleasant Bridgewater. The two demanded $25 million from Travolta in return for not going forward with the details of a document that the Scientology family gave to paramedics who accompanied Jett to the hospital by ambulance. The family’s religion forbids certain medical care and the pair threatened to go public with the information.
