Michael Jackson’s father has filed legal documents asking the court to acknowledge the family’s right to sue news outlets that published death photos of the pop star.
Joe Jackson’s lawyer, Brian Oxman, filed papers claiming legal precedent for an invasion of privacy suit when photos such as these are published.
While the legal documents do not specify which photos Jackson intends to sue over, “Entertainment Tonight” aired a photo of Jackson — whom paramedics believed was already dead — as he was taken into an ambulance from his home.
Oxman has asked the estate court judge for access to medical records in preparation for filing the lawsuit.
