November 2 Paramount will release “Bee Movie”, a Dreamworks Animation Comedy – Jerry Seinfeld’s first substantial work since his “Seinfeld” TV sitcom ended in 1998.
Make no mistake, in the 9 years since the lights went out on the Seinfeld set, Jerry has not been completely idle. He has gotten married and fathered 3 children and has continued to perform his stand-up comedy act. He has even writen a book for children, “Halloween”.
His latest endeavor, Bee Movie has been a four year labor. Seinfeld has helped to write the script and has been involved in the production as well. Jerry Seinfeld will be supplying the lead character voice, as Barry B. Benson – a wisecracking honeybee.
The story is of a talking bee who falls in love with a quirky human florist named Vanessa (Renee Zellweger). Much to his horror, Barry discovers that honey can be purchased in any grocery store. He decides to sue mankind for stealing his communities honey. Other actors providing voices for the movie will be Chris Rock and Matthew Broderick.

Jerry Seinfeld Biography
Jerry Seinfeld was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1954 – the second of two children. The family moved to Long Island when Jerry was a child. Jerry attended the University of New York at Oswego and then moved on to Queens College in New York City where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in 1976. His degree from Queen was in communications and theater. He began working in comedy clubs by night while holding down odd jobs by day. Seinfeld’s first big break came from Rodney Dangerfield, who featured Seinfeld on an HBO special
In 1981 he performed on The Tonight Show then hosted by Johnny Carson and had a late night talk show breakthrough. He became a frequent guest on both The Tonight Show and on David Letterman. During the next 8 years he picked up work in cable tv specials and in guest appearances in sitcoms.
In the late 1980’s Seinfeld and his good friend Larry David began working up an idea for a situation comedy to be called The Seinfeld Chronicles. In 1989, NBC took the bait, and a year later the show premiered under the streamlined name Seinfeld. The show started out slowly the first year but gained momentum the second year. Seinfeld opted to end the show at the height of its popularity in 1998.
Seinfeld married Jessica Sklar, founder of the charitable organization Baby Buggy, in 1999. Their children are 6 year-old daughter, Sascha, and two sons, Julian 4 and Shepherd 2.
Seinfeld continues to perform stand-up comedy and has thrown his hat into the lucrative animated comedy realm as a writer and lead character voice with the release of Bee Movie in late 2007.
