We have all been hoping for a Destiny’s Child reunion, but it looks like that is not going to happen. For years rumors have circulated that eventually the threesome of Beyonce, Michelle Williams and Kelly Roland would reunite and take the world by storm once again.
The trio’s last record, “Destiny Fulfilled” is said to be their final album. The title should have clued us all in, but we couldn’t help but hope the reunion rumors were true. For whatever reason, Beyonce’s dad and group manager, Matthew Knowles, decided to release a statement today to clear up the rumors and crush dreams everywhere.
“Contrary to rumors online of a Destiny’s Child reunion, there are no plans for the group to reunite for a performance or album,” Knowles stated in his press release. “The rumors are false. Destiny’s Child made an unprecedented impact in contemporary music, becoming one of the best-selling groups of all time.”
The statement continued, “Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams have each moved on to successful solo careers. The members remain close, but will not reunite as a group.”
So sad! We certainly hope the most successful girl group ever will one day rethink their decision. Could all of the speculation about the girls not getting along have been a factor?
