The marathon premiere week of the ABC reality show Dancing With the Stars has come to an end with the elimination of two celebrity contestants. Getting the first proverbial boot were Ashley Hamilton and his partner Edyta Sliwinska. They were joined in the losers circle by the self-proclaimed “fruit bar” Macy Gray and her partner Jonathan Roberts.
The wide smiling George Hamilton, who finished in 5th place during his own tenure on DWTS, was in the audience to witness the early departure of his offspring. Gray’s partner Roberts now has the dubious distinction of having his partner eliminated first during the last three seasons that he has participated. His only success story was Marie Osmond, who made it into the finals and took third place in Season 5. His partners Monica Seles, Belinda Carlisle and now Miss Macy were all ousted at the front end of the competition.
At the top of the leaderboard this week were Aaron Carter and his partner Karina Smirnoff in first place. Tied for second place were Kelly Osbourne and partner Louis van Amstel as well as Mya and her partner Dmitry Chaplin. Landing one point behind them were Donny Osmond and his partner Kym Johnson.
