Another celebrity was eliminated on Tuesday night from the hit ABC show Dancing With the Stars. Four new dances were introduced on Monday night, including the 2-Step, Charleston, Lambada and the Bolero.
Asked to recreate their Charleston from Monday night were Melissa Joan Hart and her pro partner Mark Ballas. The judges called it a breakthrough performance for Hart and awarded them the top score of the week with a 28.
Near the bottom of the pack were Aaron Carter and his pro partner Karina Smirnoff. The judges ganged up on the 21-year-old singer Monday night, just a week after the kid cried his eyes out after a disappointing performance.
This week Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli were both disgusted because they felt Carter wasted a good deal of practice time trying to perfect a gymnastics trick that he thought would impress the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba went for the jugular when she summed it up for the trio of judges by saying that he needed to chill out because he was going way over the top and turning people off in the process.
During the hour-long process of elimination, Carter was left to swing in the breeze through the majority of the show after he was almost immediately declared to be in the bottom two. Eventually joining those ranks were Chuck Liddell & Anna Trebunskaya.
In the end, Chuck Liddell’s 2-Step fell far short and the judges and at-home viewers gave him the boot. In parting, the MMA Iceman said, “I had fun. We had a good time. We made a run at it. It’s difficult. It’s hard to do.”
