A legend has joined the cause. Former Miami Dolphin quarterback Dan Marino is joining the lawsuit against the NFL for damages related to concussions players suffered during their careers.

According to federal court records, the Hall of Famer was one of 15 players named in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia against the league. In an 18-page complaint, the NFL is charged with concealing and witholding information about football-related brain injuries. The NFL has repeatedly denied these claims, but no one seems to be buying it. Currently, there are more than 300 active lawsuits against the league. Those lawsuits include over 5,000 players.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the complaint issued by Marino and 14 other players states, “On information and belief, the Plaintiff … sustained repetitive, traumatic sub-concussive and/or concussive head impacts during NFL games and/or practices.” The complaint also states that the 52 year old is seeking “medical monitoring and unspecified financial recovery.”

Marino is currently the biggest and most recognized name to be involved in such a lawsuit. During his 16 year stint with the Dolphins he was named to nine Pro Bowls.

Such a sad story — personally, I have no doubt that the NFL has covered up quite a bit. Where there is money, there is usually lies.
