The Los Angeles coroner announced on Thursday, February 4, 2010 that Casey Johnson died of natural causes related to “diabetic ketoacidosis”, a condition caused by a shortage of insulin.

The 30-year-old Johnson & Johnson heiress was found dead in her L.A. home one month ago on January 4, 2010. Investigating officers found hypodermic needles in the home, and they suspected Johnson partied the night before she died and failed to take her insulin. No illicit drugs were found on the premises.

Johnson is survived by her father Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets, and mother Sale Johnson, who is married to former NFL athlete and sports commentator Ahmad Rashad.
