The domain name CONANONFOX.COM was reportedly registered last week behind the shield of Domains by Proxy, Inc. Initially TMZ was reporting that the registrant was none other than the Intellectual Property Department at Twentieth Century Fox but they have since backed off on that story.
In any case, earlier today if you typed in CONANONFOX.COM, you were redirected to an interesting Twitter page – see screenshot below. The account has since been suspended.
FOX may have grand designs on hiring Conan O’Brien away from NBC. His current contract will keep him on the bench and off the air until September, but a fall premiere would fit nicely into their lineup.
The Tonight Show host has made it clear that he will not go along with NBC’s attempt to move the show’s start time to 12:05 a.m. in order to accommodate a 30 minute show by Jay Leno that would start at 11:35 p.m. The network has since offered the Tonight Show back to Leno and a fat payday for O’Brien is in the works — reportedly $40 million.
