The worst kept secret on TV is officially out. ABC has made Chris Soules The Bachelor for the 2015 season, sources close to the production confirm.

ABC tried to keep us guessing, clearly insinuating that Nick Viall, Arie Luyendyk, Jr., or even Marquel Martin might get the chance to dole out roses.

It was Chris’ gig to lose from the start, though. The Iowa farmer, a man’s man but also a gentleman with a sensitive side, is apparently up for it.

From the second Andi Dorfman cut him loose, he was a fan favorite to win The Bachelor role. Chris signing on should be very positively received.

Soules has already signed a contract and is has begun filming in his native Hawkeye State, and while he hasn’t openly said anything … see above.

America Needs Farmers? With a rose in your mouth? Quite telling.

As is the source of the confirmation: Reality Steve. The man who drops The Bachelor spoilers every single season leaked the bombshell on Twitter.

Steve is the thorn in the show’s side, or the best thing it has going for it, or somehow both. He’s an enigma, but he’s not in the business of being wrong.

Anyway, this is as good as an announcement from ABC, which you’re not likely to get until the finale of spinoff Bachelor in Paradise later this summer.

We know. We’re not over the fact that it’s a real show either.
