Charlie Sheen has opted for jail time over probation, entering a no contest plea to 3rd degree assault charges stemming from a Christmas Day altercation with wife Brooke Mueller.
Sheen was given a choice to either serve 30 days in jail or get straight probation. Apparently the actor felt probation was just too risky. He has displayed erratic behavior since his arrest — donning disguises, shaving his head, and appearing in public wearing pajamas.
Charlie will begin serving time in Aspen on Monday, after completing 36 hours of anger management. Once he serves his jail time, which could be reduced to 17 days with good time credit, the charges against him will be dismissed.
