On the heels of a triple win at the MTV Video awards, and the release of the first single from her Circus album, Britney Spears announced she will be touring the world again in 2009 – her first tour since 2004’s “The Onyx Hotel Tour,” which was scrapped due to a knee injury.

In a phone interview on Monday on New York radio station Z100, Spears said she will “definitely” be touring next year, and “probably around the world.”

Britney’s latest single, “Womanizer,” from her highly anticipated “Circus” album, was released over the weekend and has received praise from fans. The album is set to drop on December 2 -her 27th birthday.

There are currently no details available about the expected world tour.
