We read this and laughed out loud – Jessica Simpson has been trying to reinvent herself since her divorce back in 2005 with Nick Lachey. Her switch to country music didn’t pan out so once again she is setting her sights on acting but this time around she is hoping that Britney Spears will join her.
Jessica wants to do a television sitcom and is thinking that she would like to make it somewhat like Laverne & Shirley by partnering up with Britney, who is in the middle of her Circus tour.
Now Jessica has had her share of comedy roles including Dukes of Hazzard, Major Movie Star, Blonde Ambition and Employee of the Month and if memory serves us….they all tanked at the box office. As for Britney, she showed the world her ditsy side when she played the secretary on How I Met Your Mother and got pretty good reviews.
A source for Britney said that the idea sounds like fun to the singer, who promises to give it a serious look once she has completed her tour. Jessica wants desperately to be taken serious and the only way she can do that is to shed her airhead image, which may be the biggest stretch of her life. We’re just saying….
