People magazine reports that controversial Bachelor couple Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney tied the knot on Saturday at the lavish Terranea Resort on the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes, California. The 15-minute ceremony, witnessed by approximately 300 guests, will be televised on the March 8 ABC special The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding.
The wedding was held outside on the resort’s Palos Verdes Meadows Lawn bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in spite of evening showers and the threat of a tsunami (a result of the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Chile Saturday morning.)
Malaney wore a $45,000, strapless Monique Lhuillier gown and Neil Lane jewelry. American Idol’s Jason Castro sang “Over the Rainbow,” as the bride walked down the 200 foot aisle. Mesnick and Malaney said their vows under a driftwood-covered arbor decorated and designed by event and floral designer Eden Rodriguez of End Design.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and an indoor ballroom reception including a candle-lit dinner and tables decorated with centerpieces of white tulips, orchids and Casablanca lilies and black pepper berries.
After their tropical honeymoon, the couple will return to Seattle where they’ve lived together since last September.
