The pundits have kicked the post-debate spin into overdrive following last night’s first head to head political showdown between President Barack Obama and his Republican challenger, Governor Mitt Romney.

Consensus among the tens of millions of American’s who viewed the televised meeting of the two politicians … it was not a good night for POTUS.

One theory is gaining a great deal of interest this morning … a suggestion by former Vice President Al Gore that Obama was suffering the adverse affects of high altitude.

Gore appeared in a post-debate panel discussion on Current TV. He opined, “I’m going to say something controversial here. Obama arrived in Denver at 2 p.m. today, just a few hours before the debate started.”

He continued, “Romney did his debate prep in Denver. When you go to 5,000 feet and you only have a few hours to adjust, I don’t know, maybe the change in altitude?”

Those who expected the president to make a strong showing are likely to acknowledge the possibility that Al might be on to something while the rest of the universe will guffaw.
