Sheldon is back from his train trip, Leonard and Penny are getting married, and Raj has a girlfriend. All of these things should make for some interesting storytelling and hilarious one-liners for The Big Bang Theory, but something about the first part of season 8 is falling flat.
On The Big Bang Theory Season 8 Episode 4, the guys have to decide whether to reinvest in the comic book store and make sure to discuss the decision with their significant others first, but what could be funny moving forward is feeling like it might go belly up instead.
So hey, the guys are growing. Unlike the infamous 3D printer debacle, which you can watch The Big Bang Theory online to see, the guys decided to discuss whether or not to invest in Stuart’s comic book store with their partners.
Sheldon even discussed things with Amy even though they’re not together-together.
He didn’t have to discuss anything with Amy, but he did, so while his evolution is slow, he is gradually changing as a character. That’s always nice to see in characters who stick around for so many seasons.
The return of the comic book store seems like a great idea, but not if the writers don’t actually DO anything with it, and with the way the episodes have felt so far, it’s likely that they won’t.
As far as Raj’s girlfriend goes, she hates Penny, and we barely know anything about Emily, but we know that much. It seems the feeling may be mutual.
