The much-anticipated Jessica Simpson + Simple Start 2014 ad campaign has been kicked off by Weight Watchers.

Jessica Simpson, fashion designer and mother of two, appears in the latest media blitz skillfully crafted to entice men and women to make health and fitness their #1 New Year’s resolution by gravitating to the international brand that offers products and services to assist weight loss and maintenance.

According to Forbes, “Self-improvement is a shared American hobby.” Estimates indicate more than 40% of us will make New Year’s resolutions this year and only 8% will achieve those goals.

Social psychologist Roy Baumeister suggests, “Keep your list short, simple and tangible. Rather than resolve to lose weight, endeavor to eat no potato chips, fries, or ice cream for six weeks.”

In the new Weight Watchers ad, we see a little girl tossing a ball to her dog as Jessica remarks, “Remember how simple life was when we were little … when our only job was having fun? Well, life’s pretty simple again thanks to Weight Watchers new Simple Start.”

Then the scene cuts to Simpson playing with a gorgeous canine as she relates, “I started losing weight right away and I’m having a lot of fun. New Simple Start, a two week jump-start for a whole new beginning. Get motivation at meetings like I did or do it entirely on line.”
