Actor Dustin Hoffman, 75, is feeling well after having undergone treatment for an unspecified type of cancer.

His publicist Jodi Gottlieg told PEOPLE, “It was detected early and he has been surgically cured. Dustin is feeling great and is in good health.”

The 75-year-old Academy Award-winning actor will undergo doctor-recommended preventive treatments to minimize the chance of a recurrence.

Hoffman made his directorial debut in 2012 with the film ‘Quartet’ and was the recipient of a coveted medal bestowed at the star-studded Kennedy Center Honors gala in 2012.

The actor is slated to begin production in the feature film ‘Boys Choir’ later this year.

He has been married to lawyer Lisa Gottsegen since 1980. They have four children: Jacob, 32, Rebecca,30, Maxwell, 28, and Alexandra, 25.

The ‘Kramer vs Kramer’ actor also has two daughters from his previous union with Anne Byrne: Karina, 47 and Jenna, 43.
