Usher‘s 5-year-old son, Usher Raymond V, was hospitalized in Atlanta yesterday following a pool accident at the musician’s home.
According to reports, the child almost drowned when his hand became stuck in the pool’s drain while he was trying to retrieve a toy. His aunt and a maid tried to pull the five year old free but couldn’t get his hand out of the drain.
Two men who were working in the house came out when the maid screamed for help. They dove in and freed the boy, who was given CPR and rushed to the hospital.
Usher, who was not home at the time of the accident, arrived and rode in the ambulance with his son.
The boy currently remains in the hospital while he undergoes a series of tests. Usher and his ex-wife Tameka, the mother of his two children, are both at the hospital. Doctors tell TMZ the boy will be okay.
Usher’s 11-year-old step-son, Kile Glover, died last year in a jet ski accident.
