Jenna Bush Hager hit Twitter today to weigh in on the hospitalization of her father, George W. Bush, who is recovering at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital from a heart procedure to open a blocked artery.

The NBC news correspondent tweeted, “Thanks for your prayers for my dear Dad. He’s well and we’re eager for him to return to Grandpa duty.”

The sweet sentiment was accompanied by a photo of the former POTUS, 67, looking into the brass baby bed of his granddaughter, who was born April 13, 2013 in New York City.

A month ago Jenna posted another photo of her dad and Margaret Laura ‘Mila’ Hager that was captioned, “Happiest of birthdays to a darling dad, and grandpa, a man who taught me the importance of family love.”

This statement was posted on the George W Bush Presidential Center website: “During President George W Bush’s annual physical examination at the Cooper Clinic in Dallas Monday, a blockage was discovered in an artery in his heart. At the recommendation of his doctors, President Bush agreed to have a stent placed to open the blockage. The procedure was performed successfully this morning, without complications.”

“President Bush is in high spirits and is eager to return home tomorrow and resume his normal schedule on Thursday. He is grateful to the skilled medical professionals who have cared for him. He thanks his family, friends, and fellow citizens for their prayers and well wishes. And he encourages us all to get our regular check-ups.”
