‘On the Road’ actor Garrett Hedlund has turned down the starring role of Christian Grey in the film based on the erotic novel by E.L. James.

The ‘Tron: Legacy’ star was reportedly hesitant to commit to the lead in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.’ According to Us Weekly, “Doing a possible trilogy was too big a commitment, and producers wouldn’t let him do just one film.

Hedlund is currently dating his ‘On the Road’ co-star Kirsten Dunst.

A couple who are definitely still in the running for the upcoming ‘Grey’ movie are Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard and Canadian actress Ellen Page.

They have proven chemistry after co-starring in the political thriller film ‘The East,’ released in theaters two months ago. We would be remiss if we failed to mention that they have been a real-life couple since June 2012.

He has perfected his inner vampire for six season on the hit HBO series ‘True Blood.’ The show has been renewed for a seventh season and will premiere in summer 2014.

Page scored Emmy nominations in 2007 and 2010 for ‘Juno’ and ‘Inception,’ and will hit the big screen in September for her latest flick, ‘Touchy Feely.’ The film debuted in January at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival – picking up a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize.
