Flipping through the pages of fashion magazines, many of the styles seem to reflect what people of wealth are wearing. What if there was an online community of real-life inspired fashion, would you be interested?
We would! When we heard about OOTN Magazine we decided to chat with founder Desean Mills about his project.
For starters, I asked Desean what his background in the fashion world is?
“Growing up I saw big fashion magazines telling people what was cool. They also created all the trends and if you could not afford a look from GQ or Vogue magazine you were not cool enough, and that really bothered me.”
With so many different fashion magazine and online style sites, we wanted to know what makes OOTN Magazine different from the rest?
“We want people to be themselves by practicing their own style. OOTN is all about crowd sourcing; the people in this community are in charge of setting their own trends. We also promote responsive communication where we interact with the community by answering any type of questions they have, sharing styling ideas and feed backs for improvements. Finally we encourage people to be who they are; we are not about a brand or a trend we are all about style. We believe individuality is the only way to true Style!”
What drives Desean?
“I’m driven by individuality; people are the ones in charge of creating their own trends and whatever you feel comfortable in is trendy.”
What are your plans for the website?
“OOTN is going to introduce a new model for online shopping and product discovery through community and content.”
