Jane Lynch and her wife, Dr. Lara Embry, have begun the process of seeking a divorce to end their three year marriage.
The ‘Glee’ actress recently moved out of the couple’s Laurel Canyon home in L.A. and released a statement Monday: “Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter.”
Lynch is currently starring as Miss Hannigan in the Broadway show ‘Annie: The Musical.’ Her run ends on July 14.
Embry, 44, and Lynch, 52, met at the 2009 National Center for Lesbian Rights Gala in San Francisco, where the clinical psychologist was being honored.
They wed on Memorial Day 2010 at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Sunderland, Massachusetts. The small gathering was officiated by a friend who became a Universal Life minister in order to perform the ceremony – photos here.
Embry has a daughter, Haden, 10.
