Angelina Jolie was stunning in a black Saint Laurent gown last night at the London premiere of ‘World War Z.’
She and Brad Pitt were smiling broadly at the Empire Leicester Square event as photographers captured photos of the actress during her first official outing since undergoing surgery.
Angelina had a preventive double mastectomy in February and reconstructive surgery in late April after learning that she carried a mutated BRCA1 gene that predisposes her to breast cancer.
On May 14, the actress wrote in an op-ed piece for the New York Times, “I do not feel any less of a woman. I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity.”
Jolie lost her mother, an aunt and a grandmother to breast and ovarian cancer. They were all carriers of the BRCA1 gene. The actress has indicated she also plans to schedule a surgical procedure to have her ovaries removed.
The couple, who announced their engagement in 2012, have six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
‘World War Z’ is slated for release on June 21, 2013.
