Demi Moore is seeking spousal support according to divorce documents filed in a Los Angeles court this week.
Her paperwork is in response to the initial December filing by her estranged husband Ashton Kutcher.
Both sets of docs cite “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split that occurred in November 2011. Their union hung in limbo for over a year before the ‘Two and a Half Men’ actor made the first move to end their legal union.
Ashton is reportedly worth $140 million and his wife edges him out with $150 million, $90 million of which she received when she divorced Bruce Willis.
The media has questioned why a woman of such means would seek spousal support. It seems quite obvious for a number of reasons. He cheated and he’s rich and now she wants her pound of flesh. The fact that she doesn’t need the money is irrelevant. Her career has suffered and she spent time in rehab to get her head straight … a heavy toll indeed.
Moore initiated the break up and announced, “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.”
Kutcher has moved on with actress Mila Kunis.
