It seems pretty clear that it doesn’t pay to mess with Jennifer Lopez. The diva is suing her former driver Hakob Manoukian for defamation and extortion and is seeking a hefty sum in damages.
The driver, certain that the secrets spilled by Jennifer from the back seat of her luxury ride were worth a boatload of money, threatened to air her dirty laundry in public if she didn’t pay him $2.8 million.
When that didn’t work out he filed a suit in court stating that he was forced to resign after being humiliated publicly by J-Lo’s manager Benny Medina.
Lopez promptly filed a counter-suit claiming that Hakob was power hungry and wanted to control the security team. When that didn’t work out the way he wanted he threatened to reveal details from her private life.
The driver must have some pretty juicy dirt because he threatened to go to authorities to have her criminally prosecuted if she didn’t fork over the dough.
Lopez may have a tough time collecting anything from the former driver but that hasn’t stopped her from seeking in excess of $20 million. Good luck with that…
