Warrant for Cuba Gooding Jr. Issued by New Orleans Police
Academy Award winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr. has a warrant out for his arrest in New Orleans after allegedly shoving a female bartender.
Gooding, who is currently in New Orleans filming "The Butler" with Oprah Winfrey, is wanted on a municipal battery charge for the incident, which happened at a Bourbon Street bar around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, "A female bartender told officers that Gooding entered the bar with a group of people, and after a few minutes, other customers recognized him and started asking him to take photos with them. The bartender said Gooding soon became very aggravated with them."
"That’s when she says she approached him and asked him to calm down. Gooding then allegedly pushed her away with an open hand. One of the bartender’s co-workers then called 9-1-1. At that point, the bartender says she informed Gooding that the police were on the way, and that he needed to leave. Gooding then allegedly pushed her again, and left the bar."
A lawyer for Gooding said the actor is "taking necessary actions."
Gooding's attorney, Peter Toumbekis, contacted New Orleans police on behalf of his client Tuesday afternoon.
