Jennifer Lopez leaped from the No. 50 spot in last year’s annual Forbes Celebrity 100 list to No. 1 for 2012.

Lopez unseated Lady Gaga, who claimed the top spot in 2011.

Earning $52 million over the past year, with contracts for L’Oreal and Gillette, a line of clothing at Kohl’s, a fragrance, and a $20 million salary as an American Idol judge helped JLo cement her No. 1 spot on the Forbes list.

The Celebrity 100 list gauges a person’s overall fame and success, taking into account income between May 1, 2011, and May 1, 2012, media visibility in print, television, radio and online, and social media power.

Oprah Winfrey, who financially topped everyone on the list with $165 million in earnings in the past year, landed in the No. 2 spot, while Lady Gaga, who hasn’t toured much in the past year, dropped to No. 5.

Rounding out the top five were Justin Bieber at No. 3 with $55 million in earnings, and Rihanna at No. 4.

Angelina Jolie outranked soon-to-be-husband Brad Pitt, coming in at No. 13 to his No. 23, although he earned more money than her, bringing in $25 million to her $20 million.

Other celebs making the list include first-timers Kim Kardashian at No. 7, with $18 million in earnings, Khloe Kardashian at No. 73, with $11 million in earnings, and Ashton Kutcher at No. 51, with $24 million in earnings.
