Senator John McCain and Jersey Princess Snooki are striking up quite the friendship. Snooki has been vocal about voting for McCain in the 2008 presidential election because “he was cute” and she “liked his speeches.” It seems the unlikely pair have been corresponding via Twitter over their opposition to the tanning tax.
In an interview this week, McCain joked that Snooki “knows that I wouldn’t support a tanning tax because I’m so pale.” In June he ‘tweeted’: “@SnOOki ur right, I would never tax ur tanning bed! O’s tax policy is quite The Situation, but I do rec wearing sunscreen!” The last comment is a nod to the fact that the senator has had several major surgeries on his face to combat a recurrence of skin cancer.
The former presidential candidate also had some choice words about the reality star’s appearance: “I kind of think she might be too good looking to go to jail,” explained McCain on Phoenix-based radio station KMLE.
Last month the star was arrested for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after having too much to drink. She has since sworn off daytime drinking.
The Jersey Shore star isn’t expected to get any jail time but instead is facing a $250 fine.
