Porn actor Stephen Clancy Hill, who was suspected of murdering a co-worker with a samurai-style sword died Saturday after falling nearly 50 feet from a rocky hillside after a standoff with police, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Hill was charged with one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder after he attacked colleagues with a sword that was used as a film prop at a pornographic film distribution company warehouse in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Hill, whose professional name is Steve Driver, fled in an SUV with the murder weapon, authorities said.

The murder occurred about a week after Hill learned he was being fired and that he would have to move out of the production facility, where he had been living.

Hill spent eight hours Saturday in a dramatic standoff with police and crisis negotiators on the edge of a rocky cliff in West Hills, California.

Around 5:30 pm, with Hill threatening to kill himself, members of the Los Angeles Police Department’s elite SWAT unit tried to apprehend him, using a less-than-lethal weapon, said Deputy Chief Kirk Albanese, who oversaw the incident.

As police offices moved in to surround him, firing a Taser or beanbag gun to subdue the suspect, Hill went over the edge of the cliff.

Waiting paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead from the injuries he suffered in the approximately 50-foot fall.
