Multiple sources are reporting that American Idol’s Simon Cowell and Mezghan Hussainy, a make-up artist on the FOX juggernaut are engaged.
RadarOnline reports that the gorgeous brunette told executive vice president David Perel that she and Simon, who are living together, are officially engaged.
The couple met seven years ago on American Idol. They made their first public appearance six weeks after Cowell’s split with Terri Seymour at Simon’s 50th birthday party.
Hussainy fled Afghanistan with her family after the Soviet invasion in 1979.
According to a previous statement by Cowell’s publicist Max Clifford, Cowell has been dating Mezghan for nearly a year.
“They are very suited,” Clifford said earlier. “She is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that. He’s probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I’ve been working with him.”
