It was Hollywood Week on American Idol Tuesday night, February 9, 2010. The standout performance was by Andrew Garcia who performed an acoustical version of the Paula Abdul song “Straight Up”.
Judge Kara DioGuardi called the performance “genius” and exclaimed, “Paula would be screaming and yelling and clapping and dancing.” Guest judge Ellen DeGeneres slapped her hands together over her head and added: “Paula would be doing this”.

Garcia, 24, hails from Moreno Valley, California and reportedly has over 12,000 followers on Twitter. He is an aspiring singer who does vocals and plays the guitar for the band The Adrian William Project.
Another contestant wasn’t as fortunate as Garcia. Barney Girl Erica Rhodes got the boot.
