Actor Mel Gibson and girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva welcomed a baby girl into their lives three months ago. The 54-year-old celebrity sat down and talked to Jay Leno last night about being a father again for the eighth time.
So what is it like this time around for Mel? He said, “You know, you’re more mellow, there’s shortcuts, I guess. Earplugs, you know!”
Jay was curious if Mel was splitting the baby duties with Oksana, “I will be honest, I would say that her mother does the lions share of that work, but you know, I support her.”
After 45 years, Gibson has given up smoking. Mel has been off the cigarettes for 18 days because he wants to play tennis with his baby girl when she gets older. He told Jay that the withdrawal from nicotine has been extremely difficult: “For the first three days you are an ax murderer, then you come down to a baseball bat and then a golf club.”
