Christmas Day 2009 for “Two and a Half Men” star Charlie Sheen will surely be one unforgettable holiday. Yesterday morning Sheen was arrested after his wife Brooke Mueller called 911 and claimed that her husband had choked her.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Brooke was legally drunk with an alcohol level of .13, while Charlie registered .04.
Mueller told a female officer, right before the bail hearing, that she was drunk when the call was placed. That fact didn’t sway the court in Charlie’s favor despite his claim that he was defending himself from his wife.
Sheen was booked on two felonies and one misdemeanor — all relating to domestic violence. A judge finally hooked up with the actor late Christmas night and he was released on an $8,500 bond. His next court date is set for February 8th.
We are now hearing that Mueller has refused to speak to investigators who want to do a follow-up interview with her. Chief Deputy D.A. Arnold Mordkin said, “Generally speaking, our office files charges when police make an arrest. It is not uncommon where a victim in the throes of an event says some things and thereafter the story seems to change. I often file criminal charges against someone who falsely accuses someone.”
It should be interesting to see how this all pans out. Did Charlie truly abuse Brooke? The fact that she is now willing to cover it all up is shades of the Thanksgiving debacle of Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren. Check out the new revelations about what really happened behind their closes doors.
