Actor Charlie Sheen was arrested for domestic violence against his wife in Aspen, Colorado on Christmas morning after police arrived in response to a 911 call. Officer Rick Magnuson arrested the “Two and a Half Men” star for felony second degree assault, felony menacing and criminal mischief. He is the son of veteran actor Martin Sheen.

Sheen, 44, who reportedly choked Brooke and threatened her with a knife, is being held under his given name Carlos Irwin Estevez, at the Pitkin County Jail on an $8,500 bond. He will remain incarcerated until he makes an initial court appearance before a judge. That hearing, according to spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro, is to advise him of the charges. She said, “Theoretically he should be advised on Monday, unless a judge advises him this weekend.” See his booking photo below.

Sheen’s wife Brooke Mueller, a real estate investor, called for emergency assistance at 11:20 a.m. but refused to be transported in an ambulance that was dispatched to 320 W. Hallam Street near the downtown area of Aspen – see photos of the $7.4 million property, currently on the market, below.

Charlie has had a history of bad behavior – and frequently ranted during his divorce from Denise Richards.

The couple married in May 2008 and have twin sons Max and Bob, who were born in March 2009. Sheen has been married three times and has three daughters.

UPDATE: Both Brooke Mueller Sheen and Charlie Sheen were given Breathalyzer tests to determine whether they were drunk. Check out the surprising results here.
