Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, is a former model and accomplished singer and songwriter who has had to put her musical pursuits aside while fulfilling her duties as first lady of France.
She recently appeared on Canal Plus television and let slip the fact that famed movie director Woody Allen has asked her to appear in his next film. Though she has no experience or training as an actress, she readily agreed to be cast in a future project.
Allen hasn’t yet decided what type of role might suit the former model, but made her promise not to entertain any other movie offers until he can find the right vehicle to showcase her film debut. Bruni-Sarkozy said, “I cannot in my life miss an opportunity like this.”
