Michelle Obama may be pushing the fashion envelope with her new Robert Clergerie thigh-high boots.
The flat black boots were specially ordered by a Chicago retailer from the Romans-based French designer after the first lady was unable to find the exact style she wanted.
Clergerie launched his label in 1981 with his famous oxford, “the shoe equivalent of the little black dress.”
The famous shoemaker, who has also designed footwear for Madonna, Bianca Jagger and French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, said Mrs. Obama also ordered a pair of beige buckskin calf-length boots.
