It has been nice to imagine that all is well with singer Britney Spears. With her father at the helm and the reestablishment of her original team, all of the noise has quieted and things have appeared to be on the right track. Now we are discovering that there is more going on behind the scenes than we previously realized.
Recently, while at dance practice, Britney had a “prepaid” cellphone taken out of her purse by her security team. When questioned about the phone, Brit said that someone gave it to her while she was staying at a hotel recently. The person who delivered it to her got it from two men, former manager Sam Lutfi and ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.
In court yesterday Jamie Spears used this incident to describe why he got a restraining order against the men. Here is what Papa Spears had to say in court:
“When (Lutfi) was in so-called control, she’d lost everything – her kids and career. I believe he’s a predator, I believe he’s very dangerous to her…and causes her a lot of anguish and disbelief. We’ve asked him to go away before, and now he’s coming back. We just want the man to go away. Just leave us alone.”
This whole thing is bothersome. It is apparent to any normal thinking person that these men are not what Britney needs in her life. As for Lutfi, he admits that he has tried to get in touch with Britney through her hairdresser and others but insists that the messages that he has asked them to pass on were not harmful.
Another funny piece of information is that Lutfi has told the courts that the Spears family is giving him a bad name. We think he has accomplished that without the help of others.
If Britney really took the cell phone from an unidentified person, it seems apparent that she continues to need somebody at her side 24/7. Sadly, outside influences may forever be a potential problem for the pop star.
Court will resume on Wednesday and more witness testimony is scheduled.
