February 8th is likely a day that singer Rihanna would like to forget. It is the day that her boyfriend, musician Chris Brown was arrested on a charge of making criminal threats. Law enforcement officials are still investigating the battery aspects of the incident, with assault charges likely to be added. The story has captured the full attention of the world.
Although the fathers of both Rihanna and Chris have made statements about that night, we have not heard from Rihanna’s camp until now. A rep for her released the following statement:
“At the request of the authorities Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown. She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.”
People magazine is reporting that Rihanna, who turned 21 years old yesterday, was seen at the Los Angeles airport on the same day that TMZ published a leaked photo of her beaten and bruised face. L.A. police have launched an investigation into who released the photo that was taken by officers at the scene.
