Victoria Osteen is the wife of Joel Osteen who is an author, televangelist and Senior Pastor at Lakewood Church, the largest congregation in Houston. Recently named co-pastor of the 60,000 member congregation, she has another claim to fame – she is alleged to be rude and pushy.
Victoria and her family were on a flight from Houston to Vail, Colorado two years ago when she became upset about a spill on her first-class armrest. When flight attendants didn’t get right on the cleanup detail she reportedly became enraged to the point of pushing, grabbing and shoving the lead attendant Sandra Brown.
The out of control Osteen tried to get into the cockpit and elbowed Brown in the process. Rather than call the police, the Osteen party was asked to leave the plane, which had not yet left the gate. Ultimately the FAA did fine Osteen $3,000 for interfering with a flight crew. That was not good enough for Ms Brown, who filed a civil lawsuit against Victoria Osteen.
Osteen’s attorney is famed litigator Rusty Hardin who has represented Roger Clemens, accounting giant Arthur Andersen in the Enron scandal and J. Howard Marshall II against Anna Nicole Smith. The barrister prevailed in all cases. This must look like a slam dunk from his perspective.
Brown’s attorney, Reginald McKamie intends to prove that Victoria Osteen has a dark side that will be exposed. He promises some surprises at trial.
